Filmmaker-spotting at the WorkChoices rally
An ‘Independent’ update. Yesterday, while marching down Flinders Street as part of the throng gathered to protest the Howard Government’s iniquitous WorkChoices legislation, I spotted John Studley coming at me with headphones on. He smiled and I said hi and noticed he was holding a camera low behind the purple shopping buggy, which is a central prop in his upcoming film.
Quickly bringing up the rear was a small crew and the grinning face of co-director Andrew O’Keefe, who laughed with me at the spectacle. “So this is low-budget filmmaking?” I said. We shook hands, laughing, and he made a motion as if to say “Can’t stop – working!” and they pushed on through the crowd.
